POLICE have denied a report that Nora Anne Quoirin’s family today claimed the teenager’s body from Tuanku Jaafar Hospital.

Negri Sembilan police chief Mohamad Mat Yusof told Bernama that he was not contacted by Agence France-Presse (AFP).

“At the earliest, the body can be claimed on Sunday. Police have no reason to hold back the body (from being claimed).

“We have given permission for the body to be claimed.”

AFP had reported that Nora Anne’s family claimed the body after a post-mortem revealed no criminal elements in the Franco-Irish teen’s death, and that the remains would be flown to London.

Nora Anne’s body was found on Tuesday about 2km from The Dusun resort, where the Quoirins had checked into on August 3 for a two-week holiday.

The special needs 15-year-old went missing the following day, triggering a massive search operation.

The post-mortem showed that Nora Anne died of internal bleeding due to starvation two to three days before her body was found. – Bernama, August 16, 2019.
