UMNO Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki is in home quarantine despite testing negative for Covid-19 so far.

He posted on Instagram about monitoring the Sabah elections from his home where he is undergoing quarantine.

He also confirmed to Malaysiakini that he tested twice for the coronavirus with negative results and is due for a third test this Monday.

According to the news portal, Asyraf had been in close contact with two other politicians who are confirmed Covid-19 cases. They are Barisan Nasional’s candidate for Pitas, Sufian Abdul Karim, and Umno Supreme Council member Mohd Razlan Rafii.

“Even though I am under home quarantine, I am still observing developments on voter turnout…in every seat through through youth chiefs and coordinators of the youth machinery in each seat,” he posted.

Earlier this week, Razlan was the first politician to announce he had tested positive for Covid-19 while campaigning in Sabah.

Pitas candidate Sufian announced his positive case on Facebook earlier today, urging those who had come into contact with him to get themselves screened and apologising for the inconvenience caused.

Umno information chief Shahril Hamdan also announced three days ago he had tested positive for the coronavirus after campaigning in Sabah.

Sabah is currently a virus hotspot with more than 700 active cases, and eight clusters. – September 26, 2020.
