THE retail prices of RON97, RON95 and diesel would remain unchanged at RM3.47, RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre, respectively, from tomorrow until December 20.

The Finance Ministry in a statement today said the prices were fixed based on the weekly retail price of petroleum products using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism.

“To protect consumers from global price hikes, the government maintains the ceiling price of RON95 at RM2.05 per litre and diesel at RM2.15 per litre, even though the market prices for both have increased beyond current ceiling prices,” it said.

The statement said the government would continue monitoring the global crude oil price trends and take appropriate measures to ensure the people’s wellbeing. – Bernama, December 13, 2023.
