THE retail prices of RON97, RON95 and diesel were unchanged at RM3.47, RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre, respectively, between October 12 to 18.

The Finance Ministry (MOF) in a statement today said the prices were based on weekly retail rates of petroleum products in accordance with the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula.

“To protect consumers from the increases in global oil price, the government will maintain the ceiling price of RON95 at RM2.05 per litre and diesel at RM2.15 per litre, even though the market price for both products has increased beyond the current ceiling rate,” it said.

MOF said the government would continue to monitor global crude oil price trends and ensure the continued welfare and wellbeing of the people. – Bernama, October 11, 2023.
