THE retail prices of RON97, RON95 and diesel would remain unchanged at RM3.47, RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre, respectively, from October 19 to 25.

The Finance Ministry (MOF) in a statement today said the prices were based on the weekly retail prices of petroleum products according to the Automatic Pricing Mechanism.

“To protect consumers from the increase of global oil prices, the government will maintain the ceiling price of RON95 at RM2.05 per litre and diesel at RM2.15 per litre, even though the market prices for both products have increased beyond the current ceilings,” it said.

The MOF said the government would continue monitoring global crude oil prices and take necessary measures to ensure the people’s continued wellbeing. – Bernama, October 18, 2023.
