MOH reports 142 new Covid infections

THE Ministry of Health logged 142 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, taking the cumulative cases since the onset of the pandemic to 5.03 million.

No coronavirus-linked deaths have been reported over the past 24 hours.

New infections were recorded in Selangor (53), Kuala Lumpur (27), Malacca (10), Negri Sembilan (10), Johor (8), Putrajaya (7), Kedah (6), Perak (4), Terengganu (4), Pahang (3), Sarawak (3), Kelantan (2), Penang (2), Sabah (2) and Perlis (1).

Labuan did not register any new cases yesterday.

The number of active cases dropped to 10,212 with 267 people recovering from the illness.

Of the active cases, 9,859 people (96.5%) were in home quarantine and 353 (3.5%) in hospital.

Some 16 patients were in intensive care, 11 of whom required respiratory assistance. – January 24, 2023.
