MOH reports 244 new Covid cases

THE Health Ministry reported 244 new Covid-19 infections against 401 recoveries yesterday, bringing down number of active cases to 10,477 nationwide.

According to ministry data, 10,008 people were in home quarantine and 469 were in hospital.

Some 20 patients were in intensive care, 11 of whom required respiratory assistance.

No Covid-19 related fatalities were recorded yesterday, keeping the death toll at 36,908. 

Fresh infections were registered in Selangor (84), Kuala Lumpur (37), Johor (22), Malacca (17), Perak (15), Penang (14), Sarawak (11), Kedah (10), Putrajaya (8), Pahang (8), Negri Sembilan (7), Sabah (6), Kelantan (3) and Terengganu (2).

Perlis and Labuan did not log any new cases. – January 16, 2023.
