MOH reports more than 3,000 Covid cases for first time since August

FOR the first time since mid-August, there have been more 3,000 daily Covid-19 infections, according to the Ministry of Health.

In its latest Covid update, the ministry said there were 3,296 new cases yesterday, more than 65% of which were in the Klang Valley (2,150 cases).

More than 4.89 million cases have been reported in Malaysia since the onset of the pandemic.

Some 1,960 people recovered yesterday.

There are now 30,055 active cases, of which 28,721 are in home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, there no registered patients at quarantine centres, with 1,276 people admitted to hospital. 

Some 58 people are in intensive care, with 35 in need of respiratory assistance. 

One death was reported, taking total number of fatalities to 36,463. – October 29, 2022.
