MOH reports 1,453 new Covid cases

THE Ministry of Health logged 1,453 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, taking the national caseload 4.85 million.

Two deaths – both in Malacca – were reported yesterday, taking the overall national death toll to 36,400.

New cases were reported in Selangor (611), Kuala Lumpur (258), Sabah (111), Perak (101), Negri Sembilan (69), Penang (69), Kedah (49), Malacca (42), Johor (33), Sarawak (29), Kelantan (28), Putrajaya (20), Pahang (16), Terengganu (15) and Perlis (2). 

Labuan was the only territory not to report any new Covid-19 infections. 

The number of active cases dropped to 22,772 yesterday after 1,800 people recovered from the virus. 

There were 21,768 people in home quarantine (95.6%) and a further 967 in hospital (4.4%). 

There were 37 patients in intensive care, 22 of whom required respiratory assistance. – October 10, 2022.
