[WATCH] Don't hang a mentally disabled person, lawyer tells Singapore

SINGAPORE was today urged not to go ahead with the execution of Nagaenthran Dharmalingam, a Malaysian convicted of drug trafficking, as it was proven that he is mentally disabled.

Human rights lawyer N. Surendran said the republic would descend into barbarism if it went ahead with the execution. – July 23, 2019.

  • What logic? A mentally disabled person could deal with drug trafficking and you are asking the Singapore government not to hang him because of his mental disability? What is the use of having the rule of law if all criminal cases are caused by mentally disabled persons?
