Resolve water woes before offering free supply, Negri Sembilan told

THE Negri Sembilan government must resolve issues related to water supply disruption before accepting Syarikat Air Negri Sembilan Sdn Bhd’s (Sains) offer to provide water for free.

State Malaysian Youth Solidarity Movement coordinator Eddy Noor Reduan said Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun should first resolve supply disruption problems afflicting rural folk, as well as during festive seasons and the school holidays.

He said the state’s capability to provide free water should be assessed, adding that it was not part of Pakatan Harapan’s election pledges.

“It is preferable for the menteri besar to focus on resolving the water problems that were never resolved by the previous government,” he said in a statement today.

It was reported that Sains director Wan Rasdi Wan Ismail said the company will heed instructions from the state government to supply water for free.

However, Aminuddin has said the state does not have such plans, and that the state PH made no promises of free water in its election manifesto. – Bernama, June 18, 2018.
