1,809 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths

MALAYSIA recorded 1,809 new Covid-19 infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of cases to 4,508,319, the Health Ministry reported.

Its CovidNow website showed that Selangor recorded the highest number of infections with 763 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (386) and Perak (151).

Other states and federal territories that reported infections were Penang (113), Negri Sembilan (140), Malacca (64), Putrajaya (39), Kedah (36), Johor (33), Sabah (28), Sarawak (23), Pahang (13), Kelantan (7), Terengganu (7), Perlis (5) and Labuan (1).

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry’s GitHub data showed that there were two Covid-19 deaths logged yesterday – one each in Johor and Malacca.

Since the pandemic, Malaysia has recorded 35,678 Covid-19 deaths.

The fatality rate stood at 0.1% and the cumulative fatality rate, 0.8%. – June 2, 2022.
