1,451 new Covid-19 cases, 7 deaths

MALAYSIA recorded 1,451 new Covid-19 infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of cases to 4,506,510, the Health Ministry reported.

Its CovidNow website showed that Selangor recorded the highest number of infections with 665 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (287) and Penang (84).

Other states and federal territories that reported infections were Perak (73), Johor (29), Kedah (45), Negri Sembilan (72), Malacca (43), Sabah (36), Putrajaya (22), Sarawak (44), Kelantan (15), Pahang (13), Terengganu (18), Perlis (4) and Labuan (1).

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry’s GitHub data showed that seven Covid-19 deaths were recorded yesterday – Selangor and Kedah recorded two, followed by Terengganu, Kuala Lumpur and Johor with one each. 

Since the start of the pandemic, Malaysia has recorded 35,676 Covid-19 deaths.

The fatality rate stood at 0.1% and the cumulative fatality rate, 0.8%. – June 1, 2022.
