CELEBRITIES Altimet, whose real name is Syed Ahmad Abdul Rahman Alhadad, and Hans Isaac failed to break into the political arena through the PKR polls after the unofficial results were released today.
Altimet and Isaac ran for Ampang PKR chief, but managed to win only 589 and 609 votes, respectively, but lost to Daing Muhammad Reduan Bachok, who bagged 942 votes.
PKR information chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin lost to Mohd Rafee Ibrahim in his bid to bag the Hang Tuah Jaya chief post. The former won 379 votes, while the latter won 488 votes.
Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul again failed to secure the Sungai Petani chief post after losing to Ooi Tze Min by 103 votes.
Rafizi Ramli, who is also running for deputy president, defended his Pandan chief post by garnering 548 votes, defeating Adnan Jaaffar (121 votes) and Mohamad Rashidi Hassan (373 votes).
Amirudin Shari defended his Gombak chief post by garnering 1,858 votes, defeating Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, who is PKR president Anwar Ibrahim’s ex-political secretary (1,215 votes).
In Negri Sembilan, Aminuddin Harun, who made his debut by running for Port Dickson PKR chief, won with 1,129 votes, defeating Sevalingam Birasami (477 votes) and Ravi Munusamy (951 votes).
He was Tampin chief since 2018 and Seremban deputy chief before that.
Simpang Renggam MP Maszlee Malik’s first attempt to run for Simpang Renggam PKR chief succeeded when he won with 109 votes, defeating Faizul Abdul Ghani (66 votes).
Seven states have announced their election results as of 5pm, namely Kedah, Kelantan, Selangor, Malacca, Negri Sembilan, Johor and Sabah. – Bernama, May 29, 2022.
