MP to raise Borneonisation in Parliament today.

TODAY’S Dewan Rakyat sitting will focus on the federal government’s plans to expedite Borneonisation in line with the Malaysia Agreement 1963, according to the Order Paper.

The matter is scheduled to be raised by Jugah Muyang (Lubok Antu-Ind) to Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob during the Ministers’ Question Time.

Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin (Hang Tuah Jaya-PH) is slated to pose a question to Higher Education Minister Noraini Ahmad about the lifelong learning initiative through the accreditation of prior experiential learning method.

During the question-and-answer session, Amiruddin Hamzah (Kubang-Pasu Pejuang) will ask Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz to state whether the government is planning to review the fuel prices at the pump with the price of crude oil increasing to US$95 (RM401) a barrel.

Amiruddin will also ask about the impact on subsidies if the price was not revised, as well as the government’s additional revenue with the increase in crude oil price.

After the session, Human Resources Minister M. Saravanan is expected to table the first reading of the trade unions (amendment) bill 2022, employees’ social security (amendment) bill 2022 and employment insurance system (amendment) bill 2022.

Focus will also be on the tabling of the constitution (amendment) bill 2022 for the second reading.

The fifth session of the 14th Parliament will end today after 16 day-sitting. – Bernama, March 24, 2022.
