SENIOR citizens can walk in for their Covid-19 booster jabs from January 19 at four vaccination centres in the Klang Valley, the Health Ministry said.
In a statement today, the ministry said the centres are IDCC Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam, Soka Gakkai in Klang, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur and Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.
“All the vaccination centres will open from 2pm to 8pm daily, except Soka Gakkai, which will open from noon to 4pm,” it said.
“Senior citizens who wish to attend by walk-in are requested to have a complete digital vaccination certificate in MySejahtera for the booster vaccination process.”
Offsite vaccination centres that are located in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Malacca, Penang and Sarawak will operate from January 24.
These centres will open at shopping malls and community halls.
“Details of the implementation will be announced by ProtectHealth Corporation, the government company that manages the national immunisation programme,” it said.
More than 9.36 million people or 40% of the adult population in the country have received the Covid-19 booster dose as of yesterday.
Based on the CovidNow portal, 145,922 booster shots were administered yesterday.
More than 22.9 million people or 97.8% of the adult population are fully vaccinated while 23.18 million people or 99% of the adult population have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
The ministry also said that starting January 19, only Pfizer vaccine will be supplied to vaccination centres and it will be given to certain people such as pregnant women and others who are allergic to the AstraZeneca vaccine. – January 17, 2022.
