PAKATAN Harapan (PH) will be launching its “Maju bersama Harapan” action plan on Wednesday in conjunction with the Malacca state elections, state PH chairman Adly Zahari said.

He said the launch will be officiated by PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim and other leaders of the coalition.

“We are announcing the plan as we are aware of the existing standard operating procedure (SOP), just to inform that the launch is at 5pm on Wednesday,” he told a press conference in Malacca today.

He said PH will be commencing its election campaign with focus on introducing its candidates for 28 state constituencies –18 candidates aged 50 and above, and 10 below 40 years old, including the youngest candidate aged 21.

Adly said the introduction of SOP for the elections is a major challenge for PH as activities such as house-to-house visits and rallies are not allowed.

“I hope the media will play an active role, especially the mainstream media, in giving more space to candidates to put their messages across,” he said.

“However, we will comply with the SOP by distributing leaflets and disseminating information using the mobile approach.”

Polling for the elections is on November 20 and early voting on November 16. – Bernama, November 8, 2021.
