M. INDIRA Gandhi will walk 350km from north Malaysia to Putrajaya to demand justice after having exhausted all avenues to gain back her daughter.
She said the authorities were taking too long to search for her youngest child, Prasana Diksa.
“We are exhausted from knocking on all the doors of the authorities and ministers.
“It is frustrating, I have been waiting for 11 years to be reunited with my daughter. How long more do I have to wait?” she said at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
To protest against the delay, Indira will be taking a 12-day trek starting on November 21 from Sg Petani, Kedah, to Putrajaya to deliver a letter to Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
On whether she was up to such a feat, Indira admitted she wasn’t all that fit but was motivated by the thought of getting her daughter back.
“Prasana is my biggest motivator now.”
Prasana, now 12, was snatched by Indira’s former husband as a baby.
The Ipoh High Court ordered Muhammad Riduan Abdullah, a Muslim convert, to return Prasana in 2014 but he failed to comply with the order, leading to a court-issued arrest warrant.
Indira said she has no more options but to do the walk to get her daughter back.
“This will be a major walk. I hope that Malaysians will support me and this will open the eyes of the authorities and the Agong.”
Indira Gandhi Action Team (Ingat) Arun Dorasamy said they’re not going after anyone but are just crying out for justice.
“Justice is not for any one group, but for all Malaysians. Our interest is Prasana, not Ridhuan.”
Arun also said they’re not going to seek any further meetings with the police.
“What’s the use of the task force (to locate Prasana)? It’s been more than a year. We don’t need a task force to seek her (Prasana).”
Yesterday, Arun said Ingat is offering a RM50,000 reward to anyone with information on Prasana’s whereabouts.
“We have allocated a RM50,000 reward and it will be given to those with any sort of verifiable information, let it be new or old, about Prasana,” said Arun, adding that posters on the reward would soon be distributed.
Last month, Indira planned a hunger strike in front of the federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman over their failure to update her on the case but called it off after Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador agreed to meet her.
However, Hamid was absent on the day of the meeting. Senior officers from Bukit Aman spoke with Indira in his stead.
Indira is suing Hamid for RM100 million for failing to locate Prasana. – October 9, 2020.

Is it because the father converted and became a Muslim?
The IGP must answer.
