THE Indira Gandhi Action Team (Ingat) is offering a RM50,000 reward to anyone with information on the whereabouts of Prasana Diksa, the daughter of M. Indira Gandhi who was taken away by her ex-husband Muhammad Riduan Abdullah more than a decade ago.
Ingat chairman Arun Dorasamy told The Malaysian Insight the cash would be given to those with verifiable information .
“We have allocated a RM50,000 reward and it will be given to those with any sort of verifiable information, let it be new or old, about Prasana,” said Arun, adding posters advertising the reward would soon be distributed.
“We will reward them based on the information provided. So even if anyone is able to give a small tip-off that is verifiable, they will be given a cut from the allocated amount.”
Those with the required information are to call the Ingat hotline at 016-711 4252.
Early last year, Ingat offered a RM10,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of Riduan, who converted their children to Islam without Indira’s consent.
Arun said he will call for a press conference tomorrow to announce Indira’s plan to walk 350km from north Malaysia to Putrajaya to demand justice.
The Ingat chairman said the distraught mother will make the 12-day trek to deliver a letter to Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
“Ingat and Indira are taking our plea for justice to the rakyat and the prime minister.
“The 350km, 12-day walk is going to be from the north to Putrajaya just to deliver a letter demanding justice,” he said.
Last month, Indira planned a hunger strike in front of the federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman over the cops’ failure to update her on the case but called it off after Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador agreed to meet her.
However, Hamid was absent on the day of the meeting. Senior officers from Bukit Aman spoke with Indira in his stead.
Indira is suing Hamid for RM100 million for failing to locate her daughter.
Riduan in 2014 was ordered by the Ipoh High Court to return Prasana but failed to do so, leading to a court order compelling the police to arrest him.
In 2018, the former kindergarten teacher Indira won a 10-year legal battle to gain custody of Prasana.
The Federal Court in January last year nullified the unilateral conversion of her three children to Islam.
The two older children live with Indira and are raised as Hindus. Prasana has been missing since she was a baby. – October 8, 2020.
