JOHOR Pakatan Harapan has appointed state Amanah chief Aminolhuda Hassan as its coordinator.
State PKR chairman Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh said the decision to appoint the Parit Yaani assemblyman to the post was made following discussions between reps from Amanah, DAP and PKR.
“After Bersatu quit PH, we (Johor PH) had to discuss the pact’s future direction.
“His (Aminolhuda) appointment is important. We need someone who can coordinate Johor PH’s activities,” he told reporters after a special meeting of PH assemblymen in Johor Baru last night.
He said the state PH will soon seek an audience with Johor’s Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar on the number of seats needed to form the new state government.
Johor PH said the alliance between Barisan Nasional and Bersatu in the state does not have majority support, as the state PH has the same number of seats in the assembly at 28.
Yesterday, the Johor palace said Sultan Ibrahim consented to the formation of a state government by the new Gabungan Baharu after finding that the coalition has the backing of 28 reps to the 26 supporting PH.
The decision came after the ruler personally interviewed 54 of the state’s 56 assemblymen the previous day. – Bernama, February 28, 2020.
