PKR president Anwar Ibrahim said he was satisfied with the meeting with Dr Mahathir Mohamad amid speculation that the latter is attempting to form a new federal government without Pakatan Harapan.
When asked if there will be a change in federal government, Anwar said: “We should not easily give in to groups who want to betray the people’s trust given to us in the last general election”.
“But I can’t say anything (else),” he added.
“It is sufficient to say that our meeting went well. I am touched by his stand on the reforms and not bowing to the group that wants to seize power without outlining the reform agenda.”
Anwar is expected to reveal more during a press conference after chairing an emergency PKR meeting today.
This morning, Anwar, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu met Dr Mahathir at his residence in Seri Kembangan. – February 24, 2020.
