YESTERDAY’s rally against the elimination of racial discrimination was a huge success as it conveyed the wishes of all Malaysians, said former prime minister Najib Razak.

He said Malaysians had gathered peacefully yesterday to say no to ratification of the International Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).

“We have sent a clear message to the Pakatan Harapan government.

“Malaysians want their rights and unity protected, to respect each other and carry on with the 1Malaysia principle,” he said on Facebook.

He said the unity of the Muslims and Malaysians was a historic even

“Rise and defend,” he said in another post.

Najib and his wife Rosmah Mansor participated in the rally yesterday which saw about 55,000 people in attendance.

Organised by Muslim NGOs, and supported by Umno and PAS, the rally was originally planned to object the government’s decision to oppose the ratification of the convention. However it was turned into a thanksgiving gathering after the government made backed down.

Those objecting to ICERD say the convention is anti-Malay, anti-Islam and anti-Malay rulers. – December 9, 2018.

  • 55,000 thats only 0.2% of the Malaysian population has spoken. The rally has failed miserably to garner support of the Muslims in Malaysia. In other words it has failed so very badly. So please dont gloat..

  • Nothing was spoken. The only thing spoken with emptiness was by you Najib. You thoroughly have no standing even to speak. Do not use and play the rakyat sentiments to gain mileage. Your soul itself is beyond redemption and how can you voice out what is right and wrong. You are a misfit and what the country is undergoing the changes, do not have you in the equations. You may have enormous wealth that was plundered from your own rakyat and hide it somewhere else but you do not really have the happiness and time to spend it like any ordinary person who struck a windfall. You have to serve time on all the charges with the shame and guilt feelings where loneliness will overwhelm you with wretched feelings like a pariah discarded and forgotten. If you are lucky and mercy shown on you, a quick farewell thru the gallows will be more welcoming rather than the long wait in the slammers which will drive you crazy. Well we can't say much more but -----You reap what you sow.
