Khalid vows to hunt down killers of Bukit Aman's underworld investigator

INSPECTOR-GENERAL of Police Khalid Abu Bakar today extended condolences to the familiy of a Bukit Aman policeman who was gunned down at a house in Taman Sri Hosba in Changlun, Jitra last night.

“I, and the entire police force would like to express condolences to the family of Sub-Inspector Abu Hashim Ismail who was shot dead by a criminal last night,” he said in a Twitter posting.

When contacted, Khalid vowed that the police would hunt down the suspect.

In the 10.25pm incident, Abu Hashim, 54, who was attached to the Bukit Aman CID died on the spot after he was shot four times in the back.

 The victim was having a conversation with his friend in the compound of the latter’s house when a gunman fired six gunshots from outside the gate in the direction of the policeman.

The police have detained Abu Hashim’s 35-year-old friend and are now closing in on two other suspects, aged 30 and 36, to facilitate investigations. – Bernama, August 19, 2017.
