PUPILS with Covid-19, those who are symptomatic and those undergoing quarantine will not be allowed to sit for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) exams next month, reports New Straits Times.

The newspaper, quoting the Education Ministry, said these pupils will be allowed to take their exams at another session.

The new dates will be announced at a later date.

Candidates who have completed their quarantine period and those who have been discharged after Covid-19 treatment will be allowed to sit examinations.

The two main exams had been deferred twice due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases.

Last June, the ministry said SPM would be postponed to January 6, 2021 while the STPM exams will be held on August 12 (semester 2) and March 1 (semester 3).

However, the public examinations were postponed again following the third wave of Covid-19 last October.

The SPM and STPM will now start on February 22 and March 8 respectively. – January 21, 2021.
