INSPECTOR-GENERAL of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun wants to read an inquiry panel’s findings into the enforced disappearance of Pastor Raymond Koh and activist Amri Che Mat before commenting on the conclusion that the Special Branch was involved.

“Let me read the report first before I can officially issue a statement on the matter,” Fuzi was quoted as telling the Malay Mail in Johor Baru.

Fuzi was Special Branch director when Amri was abducted in Perlis in November 2016, and when Koh was taken in Petaling Jaya in February 2017.

He was promoted to IGP in September 2017, succeeding Khalid Abu Bakar.

Fuzi is currently on a visit to the Johor police contingent and is due to return to Kuala Lumpur today.

He told the Malay Mail that he would eventually answer queries about the Malaysian Human Rights Commission (Suhakam) panel’s conclusion, but said it is premature to do so until he has read the findings.

The Suhakam panel today said it was unanimous in drawing the conclusion that Amri and Koh’s abductions had been carried out by the state. – April 3, 2019
