Ku Nan to help recover Umno assets

UMNO has tasked former secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor with recovering the party’s assets from nominees, said Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“The Supreme Council has given me the mandate to appoint Tengku Adnan to get back all our assets,” said the party president during his winding-up speech at the 72nd Umno General Assembly today.

He denied that the assets amounted to “billions”.

“I have seen the assets and liabilities. They’re not that much,” said the 65-year-old.

“There is an impression that Umno has ‘billions’, but I have seen the reports on the assets and liabilities from the company CEOs and share trustees, and we don’t have that much. But there is something there.”

He said some trustees are claiming that the assets belong to them and not Umno.

“Umno will take legal action to recover these assets. The party is the priority.”

Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Tengku Hamzah in June said the party has assets in prime areas nationwide.

The former Umno treasurer said billions of ringgit worth of properties, which were acquired in the 1960s, could be sold to finance the party’s activities. – September 30, 2018.

    He also claimed to meet up with the Arab donor/donors that he himself is not sure of the exact number of Arabtill today. This Indon not only has limited brain capacity that he couldn't understand English but couldn't count as well.

  • More infighting. Nominees in prime areas will not give up these assets easily. Daunting task to recover all its assets.
