THE National Patriot Association is questioning the lack of action over its tip-off that the director of military intelligence had abused his role in the 14th general election to drum up support for Barisan Nasional.

Patriot president Brig-Gen (rtd) Mohamed Arshad Raji said since the group’s media statement where it revealed the allegations more than a month ago, no action has been taken nor has there been any denial of the claims.

“We demanded his resignation should the allegation be true but as of today, we were told that he is still holding on to his post. He has not denied all the allegations made against him. Neither was there an investigation to establish the truth or otherwise conducted against him,” said Arshad in a statement today.

Patriot said it received evidence which incriminated the DMI who is alleged to have used some offices within the Defence Ministry complex as an operations centre for political activities in support of the then BN government.

This includes the Cyber Defence Operation Centre for the monitoring of phone calls, social media, Facebook and emails deemed to be in opposition to BN.

Other allegations involved moving huge amounts of money said to be cash for use in the elections, destruction of files on the department’s political activities and covert propaganda activities to discredit opposition parties and politicians.

Patriot said the armed forces’ chief must conduct an investigation into the DMI’s role, without naming the individual.

The current DMI is Abdul Hadi Hussin.

Arshad today also called for the arrest of former intelligence chief in the Prime Minister’s Department, Hasanah Abd Hamid, who had written a contentious letter to the CIA asking its support to keep Najib Razak in power.

Patriot lodged a police report on July 24 and is seeking an update on the status of the investigation.

“Shouldn’t an arrest be necessary?” asked Arshad, noting that Inspector-General of Police Fuzi Harun recently said that investigations into the police report made by Hasanah herself had been completed and had been submitted to the Attorney-General’s office.

“We were told that Hasanah has resigned from her post and her whereabouts unknown. The question now is why hasn’t Hasanah been arrested over the letter that we deem treacherous and treasonous.”

Hasanah, formerly director-general of the Malaysian External Intelligence Organisation, has denied that the letter was an act of treason through her lawyer and urged police to nail the party that leaked the letter.

Former prime minister Najib has denied any knowledge of the letter.

Bersatu Youth also lodged a police report against Hasanah over the letter. – August 6, 2018.

  • Whether Najib knew about it or not, It is still treasonous for the former intelligence chief to issue the letter. She should be investigated.

  • Sometimes, it is quite disheartening, to see the kind of inaction being displayed by the present ruling govt over such matters like being described by the patriots association.

  • That is an abuse of power for sure; we protect the state. Using the state mandate to support a political party or a kleptocrat is crooked.

  • Everyones wants to clear his or her name. Jibby as usual is not aware of anything under his skin. If that is being the case than this Hasanah has actually acting on her own accord, does this simply means every Director has a free hand in running their department like their very own household? Surely there must be standard operating procedure to be adhered and approval obtained for as this involved writing officially to an agency to a foreign country and mind you this is to the head of CIA. Two possible scenario on Jibbys side either he really wasnt aware or he is lying about it and second this Hasanah has watch to much movie in trying to build a back channel communication hahahahaha. Its funny that she knows how to make a police report to apply the rule or law but in discharging their duties both of them totally disregards the rule of law.

  • It looks like PH is willing to forgive and forget all the wrong doings and crimes of UmnoBN. All the treasonous activities which are viewed as dangerous and placing the country at harm are just only an administration error. Country assests being plundered clean and strength of defence system below par or almost to none is condonable and no big deal. The PH Government inactions and lackadaisical attitude will only lead to a perception even if the country is burning it is OK as Umno regime was previously their own and lets not be too serious to charge anyone at all. Excuses are easily given that it is hard to clean up as the previous Government has too many supporters in the civil services. Very lame indeed!!!!!!!!!. When insignificant request are being completed a reamarkable whirlwind actions, just show the lack of tenacity or the willingness to do so. Criminals such Najib and his cohorts are rebuking and challenging the administrations just make a mockery on the Rakyat wasted efforts in ensuring a regime change. In other countries such traitors like Najib and his band of criminals would have been history immediately on regime change. Do we need to redo a regime change inorder to ensure justice is alive?????
