THAI police discovered 41 home-made bombs and timer devices when they inspected a pick-up truck at a roadblock in Kg Saring, Takbai district, today.

The bombs were concealed at the back of the vehicle.

The 39-year-old driver was detained in the 11.45am (local time) incident to facilitate investigations.

Takbai police chief Colonel Pacharapon Na Nakorn said each bomb weighed 500g and was “ready for use”.

He said police also seized an assortment of communication equipment for use in triggering the bombs.

He said the bombs were transported from Sg Golok, at the Thai-Malaysian border, to be handed over to a man in Narathiwat’s Ranget district.

The man has given police the slip. – Bernama, June 21, 2018.
