The US should give land to Israel

AS many people around the world wait for the arrival of 2024 with joy, Palestinians in Gaza continue suffering Israeli brutality. The Israeli army took military action against Hamas fighters in retaliation for a surprise attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023.

The United Nations (UN) has failed to put an end to this conflict, and what’s more, the US continues pledging its full support for Israel. The deep love and devotion shown by the US towards Israel is well-known ever since Israel was created in 1948.

President Joe Biden’s promise that the US will “stand with Israel” in the current Gaza conflict continues a special relationship that dates back to 1948 when then-president Harry Truman became the first world leader to recognise the Jewish state. There’s even a kibbutz (settlement) named after Truman in Israel, and the US provides billions in military support and financial aid to Israel each year.

For many years, any UN resolution seen as going against the interests of Israel would be blocked by the US. America has vetoed resolutions on Israel for a total of 46 times, including over Israel’s invasion of southern Lebanon as well as its annexation of the Syrian Golan Heights. Washington formally recognised Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem and Golan Heights in 2019, reversing decades of US policy.

If the US cares so much about Israel, why can’t it provide a piece of land inside the US for the creation of another Israel? After all, the US has a lot of land and is the world’s third-largest country. Why then should it continue to support the settlement of Israelis in a land clearly belonging to Palestinians?

By creating another Israel inside the US, Israelis there can enjoy the peace and security they’ve always hoped for. At the same time, the US can easily look after them. This would put an end to the Israel’s conflicts with other Middle East nations, which span more than seven decades.

While waiting for the US to consider the proposal above, Muslims must get together to offer any possible assistance to Palestinians. Muslims and their leaders can no longer utter words of condemnation, take to the streets to protest, and boycott certain products to express their dissatisfaction.

All Muslim countries must work closely to draft a comprehensive plan to send immediate assistance to Palestinians. This should include humanitarian and military support like basic military supplies, food, drink, medicine, and more – to be brought in by land, sea, or air.

If they encounter any attack from Israel while supplying these needs, similar military action should be taken against Israel and those who help it. Muslim countries have strong armies and modern military equipment. These military assets can be utilised in defence. Muslims cannot allow their fellow Muslims to be subjected to bullying and oppression anymore. – December 29, 2023.

  • "Muslims must get together to offer any possible assistance to Palestinians. "

So why don't the Middle Eastern Muslim countries offer sanctuaries, even temporarily?

It should be noted the tunnels beneath Gaza are structurally unsafe after the bombing and the inhabitants will be constantly living in fear for the rest of their lives for the ground can collapsed at any moment underneath them and swallow them up.

But who built the tunnels in the first place?
