FORMER Ampang PKR Youth chief Adam Rosly has denied abusing an Indonesian maid as reported by a news portal.
Adam called the allegation slanderous, aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
“This is a vile accusation. My wife, family and I have given a statement to the police and submitted all the evidence,” he said in a statement.
Earlier today, Malaysiakini reported that a former PKR division youth chief had been accused of abusing his Indonesian domestic worker, including one instance when he ordered her to strip before scalding her with hot water for not leaving the front gate open.
The case is filed under section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing harm by dangerous weapons or means.
It was also revealed that Adam smashed a flowerpot on the victim’s hands, which he had made her splay on the floor.
“This broke my little finger and permanently disfigured it,” she was reported as saying.
The 57-year-old woman is currently in the custody of the Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
Indonesian ambassador to Malaysia Hermono, who goes by only one name, said the man’s name will be put on the list of Malaysians barred from entering Indonesia.
Indonesia has blacklisted 103 Malaysians from entering the country over instances of abuse and various forms of labour exploitation of its citizens. – September 4, 2023.
