Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali says the ruling coalition knows its time is almost up, at the debate on the Election Commission’s re-delineation  report in Parliament today– The Malaysian Insight file pic, March 28, 2018.

UMNO, the Barisan Nasional lynchpin party, is doing all it can, including gerrymandering, to stay in power, says Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali.

Azmin said Umno was aware its time was almost up and as such, it was employing all its agencies, including the Election Commission (EC) to ensure its survival.

“To ensure survival, Umno is using all agencies including the EC to twist and steal in the upcoming general election,” he said during the debate on the EC’s re-delineation  report in Parliament today.

Azmin said as an indication of the lack of fairness, the record showed that each and every re-delineation exercise was followed by a huge victory for BN.

He said the proposed re-delineation would create an disproportionate number of voters in the electoral seats, which contravened Article 2(c) Table 13 of the federal constitution.

“The federal constitution should be respected by Parliament, prime minister and Dewan Rakyat members.

“We are the ones who drafted the constitution (yet) we are breaching the constitution. (But) It’s not us. (It’s) Umno who is violating the federal constitution today.”

He also questioned the EC’s position in the matter.

“Why is the EC following the orders of kleptocrats? Why is the EC, which should be an independent body, not independent and obeying the thieves and bribers in the country today?” said Azmin.

As Azmin was speaking, Budiman Zohdi (Sungai Besar-BN) tried to interrupt by bringing up the water crisis in Selangor but he was not given the chance to speak. – March 28, 2018.

  • Even I know BN would gerrymander, entice vulnerable and disgruntled voters with rewards and gifts and split the contested front into many theatres to win the election .

Heck, I knew this years ago , and I am not even a politician.

The reason I dislike PH with such a passion because I despise losers and idiots. Idiots are people who know where the branch of tree is only when their head hits it, and losers are those who complain that the branch of the tree is too low instead of finding another route across the tree, when there is nothing they can do about where a tree grows it’s branch but many things they can do to find another route across the tree.

I despite idiotic losers so much , that between an idiotic loser and a corrupted and power hungry spirit, I refuse to say that the idiotic loser is better

  • Poor weak Harapan. They will grasp onto any excuse to disguise their inability to win anything. If they can blame BN for their own woes then of course that goes down well with the mindless supporters of the Harapan Hoax. Reality Azmin: The reason you lose elections is because you do not have what it takes to win then. The EC could divide the nation up on strictly racial boundaries.... and still you would lose. Because still you are failing to address the needs of the Malaysian people. You are neglecting human rights, you are neglecting democracy and egalitarianism and you are neglecting low incomes and unemployment.... IN FACT YOU ARE NEGLECTING EVERYTHING APART FROM YOUR OWN WELFARE
