UMNO’s Supreme Council for 2023-26 convened its first meeting at Menara Dato’ Onn in World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur today.
Among those seen entering the meeting venue was Umno vice-president Johari Abdul Ghani, who arrived at 1.30pm.
Also spotted were Supreme Council members Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin, Lokman Noor Adam, and Isham Jalil.
Sharkar said at the meeting, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was expected to set out the new direction for the party and discuss several topics, including the six state elections this year.
“The president might appoint additional Supreme Council members,” he told reporters.
Sharkar said there are four new Supreme Council members – Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman, Shahaniza Shamsuddi, Mohd Rafi Alli Hassan and Muhamad Akmal Saleh.
On Saturday, Pahang Umno chief Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, Johor Umno chief Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Federal Territories Umno chief Johari Abdul Ghani were elected party vice-presidents.
Among other Supreme Council members are Foreign Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir, International Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz, Deputy Finance Minister Ahmad Maslan and Sabah Umno chairman Bung Moktar Radin. – Bernama, March 22, 2023.
