ANY decision on Umno-PAS political cooperation is in the hands of the Umno Supreme Council, Ismail Sabri Yaakob said.

The Umno vice-president said as a party that practises openness, all party members’ views on the matter will be heard.

“In the end, the decision will be made by the party’s supreme council,” the prime minister told reporters at a function in Kuala Lumpur today.

Ismail was asked about the party’s position on the subject following calls by several Umno divisions to end all talks with the Islamist party.

He noted the matter could have been discussed at the meeting of Umno’s top five that was scheduled for Saturday, but it was postponed to a later date.

“Perhaps this matter can also be raised at the upcoming supreme council meeting,” he was quoted as saying.

The top five Umno leaders refer to its president, deputy president and the three vice-presidents. – September 15, 2022.
