FOUR water treatment plants that were shut due to odour pollution have resumed operations, Air Selangor said.
In a statement, Air Selangor said the plants began operating at 6.30am and water supply will be restored in stages to the 1,337 areas affected by the disruption.
“The restoration (of water supply) varies from one area to another depending on the location and distance of the consumers’ premises (from treatment plants),” it said.
In an earlier statement, Air Selangor said it was forced to shut the Rantau Panjang and Sungai Selangor Phases 1, 2, and 3 water treatment plants upon detection of odour pollution.
It said eight regions were affected by the disruption – Petaling (370 areas), Kuala Selangor (280), Gombak (279), Klang/Shah Alam (189), Kuala Lumpur (186), Hulu Selangor (30), and Kuala Langat (3).
Air Selangor said it will provide updates on the situation through media channels, its social media accounts, the Air Selangor app, and its website.
Consumers can contact Air Selangor at 15300. – February 12, 2023.
