MANY Parti Bangsa Malaysia members are unhappy with the direction the party has taken under president Larry Sng, Zuraida Kamaruddin said today.
Zuraida, whose faction is fighting to take control of the party, accused Sng of constantly failing to consult the party leadership before making important decisions.
She also slammed the man for posting confidential party matters on social media, and for issuing statements that had damaged the party’s image.
“As a democratic party, the president should talk first with other leaders before acting or making decisions,” she said.
“Larry Sng has shown himself to be immature, arrogant and unable to think rationally as the party leader.
Prior to the November general election Sng had threatened not to sign the nominations of the candidates friendly with Zuraida.
He also refuted the former minister’s claims that he would hand over the party reins to her.
A truce was subsequently called out of regard to the polls, in which Zuraida and her party cohorts were roundly defeated. Sng was the only PBM member to win a seat, Julau.
Yesterday Sng said he had sent show-cause letters to Zuraida and other party leaders after they failed to show up for a PBM supreme council meeting last week.
He said failure to respond to the letter would result in their sacking.
Zuraida, who was formerly in PKR and then Bersatu, said Sng had acted against the wishes of the majority of PBM members and abused his position to cling in power.
“I will leave it to the PBM members and Registrar of Societies to act,” she said. – December 25, 2022.
