THE Barisan Nasional (BN) supreme council and its lawmakers are meeting shortly to decide its choice for prime minister and the coalition it would support to form the federal government.

BN leaders have been streaming into the Umno headquarters at World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Among the first to arrive were Umno Federal Territory chief Johari Abdul Ghani Johari, MIC deputy president M. Saravanan, MCA secretary-general Chong Sin Woon, and MCA deputy president Mah Hang Soon.

Saravanan said he was there for the meeting but did not want to be drawn into its agenda.

“I may have a choice (for PM) but I must adhere to the party’s decision,” he said briefly.

Jelebu BN lawmaker Jalaluddin Alias said Umno had made a decision at its general assembly not to work with Pakatan Harapan.

“If we want to change this decision, an AGM should be called for the party to debate this,” he said.

He said they were there to discuss this and make a collective decision on the matter. – November 22, 2022.
