More than 830,000 children aged 5-11 in Malaysia fully vaccinated


More than 1.52 million children aged five to 11 years in Malaysia have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as of yesterday, according to the Health Ministry. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, April 30, 2022.

MORE than 830,000 children aged five to 11 years in Malaysia, or 23.4% of the group, have completed their vaccination under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children as of yesterday.

Based on the CovidNow website, more than 1.52 million children in that age group, or 43%, have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

For adolescents aged 12-17, more than 2.89 million individuals, or 93% of the group, have completed the vaccination while more than 2.99 million individuals, or 96.2%, have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Among the adult population, more than 16 million individuals, or 68.1%, have received the booster dose while more than 22.9 million people, or 97.6%, have received both doses of the vaccine and more than 23.2 million (98.8%) with one dose of the vaccine.

Yesterday, 38,581 vaccine doses were dispensed, with 10,692 as first dose, 24,862 as second dose and 3,027 as booster dose, bringing the total number of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 70,274,130 as of yesterday. – Bernama, April 30, 2022.
