PAS will negotiate with Umno, Bersatu and other friendly parties on its participation in the Johor state elections, party secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said.

He said the discussion will determine whether PAS would participate in the polls in partnership with other parties.

“We have not finalised how we will enter this election. As a senior party in the country, we have never skipped a general election or state election,” he said after attending an event at the Kota Baru MP service centre today.

“Whether a few or many (seats), PAS will still participate. So I think for the Johor state elections, I guarantee PAS will participate.

“For PAS, elections are the process to elect leadership, whether at national level or state.

“It is this process that will create stability in the state and country.”

The energy and natural resources minister also reminded PAS leaders to preserve the reputation of the party and not do anything that will affect the party’s interests negatively.

“Everyone has to think before doing something, including issuing statements… will it be for the good of the party or otherwise,” he added. – Bernama, January 22, 2022.
