More than 22.9 million adults fully vaccinated


More than 23.1 million people or 99% of the adult population in the country have received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine as of yesterday, according to the Health Ministry. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, January 15, 2022.

MORE than 22.9 million people or 97.8% of the adult population in the country have completed their Covid-19 vaccination as of yesterday.

Based on the Health Ministry’s CovidNow portal, more than 23.1 million people or 99% of the group have received at least one dose of a vaccine.

As for the adolescent population, involving those aged between 12 and 17, 90.9% or more than 2.8 million individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine while 88.1% or 2.7 million people from the group have completed the vaccination.

Meanwhile, 236,104 doses of vaccines were dispensed yesterday, with 1,746 of them as first dose, 2,234 as second dose and 232,124 as booster doses.

This brings the total number of doses dispensed nationwide under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to more than 60.5 million, including over nine million booster shots. – Bernama, January 15, 2022.
