26-year-old picked for UM board because of alumni activism, says Noraini

DANESH Raj Nagarajan, 26, was appointed to the Universiti Malaya board of directors because he was active in the alumni, said Noraini Ahmad. 
 
“The appointment is based on his involvement in the alumni. This is the best time for us to give opportunities to the youths and roles in public higher institutions of learning,” the Minister of Higher Education told the Dewan Rakyat this morning.
 
Noraini was responding to a supplementary question from Saifuddin Nasution (Kulim Bandar Baru-Pakatan Harapan) on Danesh’s appointment to the UM board.
 
Danesh, who is a former special officer (politics) at the Prime Minister’s Office, said on his Facebook page that UM had made him the person he is today and that he would give his best for the university.
 
“I will carry out my duties as a check and balance without compromise for the future of other students,” said Danesh.
  
The former youth member of Parliament of Selangor studied performing arts at the university and is from Ayer Tawar New Village in Perak. – October 5, 2021.
