More than 60% of adult population fully dosed against Covid

HEALTH authorities administered 408,295 shots of Covid-19 vaccines yesterday, taking the total number of fully vaccinated adults to 14,095,554, or 60.2% of grown-ups.

The special committee for Covid-19 vaccine access said 155,669 people received their first dose yesterday, while 252,626 others received the second and final dose.

Fourteen million people, or 60.2% of the adult population, have been fully vaccinated, while 18.9 million or 80.9% have received their first dose.

Labuan has the highest full vaccination rate with 92.9% of its adult population, or 63,663 people, having received two doses.

The Klang Valley saw the highest number of doses dispensed with 6.7 million first jabs and 5.4 million second jabs.

In total, more than 33 million doses of vaccine have been administered since February 24.

Meanwhile, some restrictions have been eased allow dine-ins and some social activities for fully vaccinated people in all the states.

Those who have had two shots of the vaccine in states in phase 2 and above may also travel inter-district, take local tours, and take part in selected sports. – August 27, 2021.

  • Without factoring in the foreign workers, both legal and illegal, the above claim of 60% adult vaccination is meaningless.
