22 new Covid-19 clusters today

HEALTH authorities have detected 22 new Covid-19 clusters in the past 24 hours, further increasing the number of active clusters in the country to 844, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

According to Noor Hisham, of the new clusters reported, 14 were linked to workplaces, seven were community transmissions and one involved a high-risk group. 

Of the 14 workplace clusters, Selangor and Johor reported four each, while Penang reported two, and Negri Sembilan, Sabah, Malacca and Sarawak all reported one each. 

As for the community transmissions, three clusters each were reported in Sarawak and Kelantan, while one was traced in Sabah. 

The sole high-risk group cluster was detected in Kelantan. 

The 22 clusters are:

Workplace

1. Industry Jalan Bebas Tiga in Klang and Petaling, Selangor (24 cases)

2. Industry Jalan Enggang Ampang in Gombak, Selangor (eight cases)

3. Industry Jati Kiri in Klang and Petaling, Selangor (184 cases)

4. Industry Batu Besar in Klang, Selangor (130 cases)

5. Gunung Satu construction site in Johor Baru, Johor (15 cases)

6. Perindustrian Sri Plentong in Johor Baru, Johor (14 cases)

7. Jalan Pekeliling Industry in Johor Baru, Johor (26 cases)

8. Jalan Bioteknologi Dua in Johor Baru, Johor (nine cases)

9. Industry Bukit Tengah in Central Seberang Prai, Penang (24 cases)

10. Lebuh Kurau Tiga in North, South and Central Seberang Prai, Penang (12 cases)

11. Jalan Jelai-Rompin in Jempol, Negri Sembilan (42 cases)

12. Samedra in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (25 cases)

13. Jalan Merbok Ayer Keroh in Malacca Tengah and Jasin, Malacca (21 cases)

Noor Hisham said that to date 1,801 clusters have ended with no more cases reported. – June 21, 2021.
