Nearly 200,000 Covid-19 jabs given yesterday

A TOTAL of 197,963 doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered yesterday, according to the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV).

Of this, 142,890 people received their first jab while 55,073 received their second dose.

This brings the total number of doses administered as of 11.59pm on June 14 to 4.68 million.

A total of 1.41 million people have been fully vaccinated with two doses, while 3.27 million have received one dose.

Kuala Lumpur saw the highest number of vaccinations with 700,566 doses administered.

The government is targeting 300,000 doses to be given daily by August.

Meanwhile, some 13.81 million people have registered for vaccination under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

Malaysia reported 4,949 new cases yesterday, against 6,588 recoveries and 60 deaths. Active cases stood at 71,625. – June 15, 2021.
