PAYMENTS for the i-Sinar withdrawals will start from today for contributors who applied before February 25, said the Employees’ Provident Fund.

The payments include applications awaiting approval and those rejected previously, EPF said in a statement.

“Following the removal of the criteria for the i-Sinar facility in February, the EPF announces that applications that were submitted before February 25 will be approved in batches and payments will begin from March 2.”

New applications made after the removal of the criteria will open from March 8, including non-Malaysian members.

The process will take five working days from the submission date.

“New applications are for all members below the age of 55, subject to their available Account 1 balance.

“Also beginning March 8, members may amend their application details, such as amount to be withdrawn, bank details, address, telephone number, and payment method on i-Sinar online.”

Last month, Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said EPF was working towards removing the conditions for the i-Sinar withdrawal facility.

The withdrawal limits and payment schedule remain unchanged.

For those with RM100,000 and below, they can withdraw up to RM10,000 whereby the payments will be staggered over six months with the first payment amount of up to RM5,000.

For those who have more than RM100,000, they can withdraw up to 10% of their Account 1 savings.

However, the maximum allowed is RM60,000.

The payments will be staggered over six months with the first payment amount of up to RM10,000.
