MALAYAN Banking Bhd (Maybank) will temporarily stop operations at 69 branches in various states from today, in line with the enforcement of movement restrictions.

This include 20 branches in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, 10 in Johor, nine in Penang, five in Sabah, three in Negri Sembilan and two in Malacca.

“In light of the MCO (movement-control order) we are temporarily revising our branch operating hours while some branches will not be operational, from January 14. “This is to ensure our customers’ and employees’ safety,” Maybank said in a tweet.

In addition, the bank has also revised the operating hours of its branches according to zones. Branches in the MCO states and red zones will operate from 9.30am to 2pm while those in yellow zones will operate from 9.30am to 3pm.

As for branches in green zones, they will operate from 9.30am to 4pm.

The red zone categorisation is for areas with more than 41 Covid-19 cases, while areas with between 20 and 40 cases are considered as orange zones. Yellow zones are those with between one and 19 cases while places with no cases are categorised as green zones.

“For your safety, we encourage you to do all your essential banking via our digital banking platforms or use Maybank #EzyQ to book your branch appointment ahead of the visit: https://mybk.co/ezyq. “Thank you for your understanding and patience. Stay safe!,” it added.
