BEAUFORT Umno acting chief Awang Aslee Lakat has been appointed the party’s state executive secretary, effective November 1. 

The former Sabah Umno assistant secretary replaced Kadzim M.Yahya, who was appointed Sabah speaker in October.

The letter of appointment was handed over to Awang Aslee by the state Umno secretary Jafry Arifin, who is also tourism, culture and environment minister, yesterday.

Awang Aslee regarded the appointment as a big responsibility and promised to do his best to further strengthen Sabah Umno.
