EACH department in the civil service can have a maximum of 30% staff on site under the government’s work from home directive effective tomorrow, said director-general of public services Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman.
This applies to the civil service in areas under the conditional movement control order (CMCO): Sabah, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Labuan
“Effective October 22 for the CMCO period, heads of departments must ensure there is a maximum of 30% staff working on site and also ensure that the delivery of basic services are not affected,” he said in a statement.
However, Khairul said that all meetings and training sessions must be carried out online, with no face-to-face meetings allowed at all.
The work from home directive announced yesterday was decided by the National Security Council as a way to limit the movement of people in the CMCO areas, which have seen a growing number of Covid-19 cases.
For the private sector, employers can allow 10% of their workforce on site for 4 hours a day, from 10am to 2pm, for 3 days a week. – October 21, 2020.
