THERE is no compromise when it comes to the people’s mandate and justice, the Pakatan Harapan leadership said.

“The PH presidential council held its monthly meeting last night, discussing several matters including the Sabah election as well as efforts at the federal level to restore the people’s mandate.

“PH stresses that with any step taken to restore the people’s mandate, there can be no compromise on our fight to uphold justice, eradicate corruption and improve institutions,” PH leaders said in a statement today.

The statement was issued on behalf of the council by PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution, Amanah secretary-general Hatta Ramli and DAP organising secretary Loke Siew Fook .

The PH leadership also discussed the results of the Sabah elections which saw Perikatan Nasional, Barisan Nasional and Parti Bersatu Sabah win 38 of the state’s 73 seats to command a majority to form the government, the statement said.

The presidential council wished the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, who is undergoing treatment for food poisoning at the National Heart Institute, a swift recovery.

The PH leaders met a week after Anwar Ibrahim declared he had obtained enough parliamentary support to form the government.

The PKR president had an appointment with the king but the meeting was postponed when the monarch fell sick. – September 29, 2020.
