Selangor water treatment plants back up and running

THE Sg Selangor Phases 1, 2, 3 and Rantau Panjang water treatment plants have resumed operations following a shutdown due to pollution.

Selangor Water Management Authority (Luas) announced this early today on Facebook. However, it did not say when water supply would resume for an estimated 1.2 milion accounts in rhe Klang Valley.

“We are pleased to announced that the Sungai Selangor WTP Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3 have resumed operations in stages since 10.30pm (yesterday).

“Washing and flushing activities (at the WTP) will be carried out at the plants. The quality of the treated water will be monitored to protect consumers from any adverse effects,” it wrote.

Air Selangor chief Suhaimi Kamaralzaman said on Friday that water supply would only resume when the TON reading drops to zero at the affected plants.

The reading as of 8.30pm last night was 1 TON.
