Former minister’s aide, fiance remanded 5 days over graft


A FORMER aide to a former minister and his fiance have been remanded for five days beginning today to facilitate the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) investigation into a corruption case involving RM3.7 million.

The remand order against the former senior private secretary and his fiance, which expires on August 19, was issued by magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim at the magistrates’ court in Putrajaya today.

According to an MACC source, the duo surrendered themselves at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya at 5.44pm yesterday.

The case is believed to be related to a company that was awarded an advertisement project under the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry. – Bernama, August 15, 2020.
